Well hello, I forced the OM into giving me a corner of his website so I
can get my two cents worth in.
Hi, My name is HelenWell, I finally was able to retire at age 62 so I am really enjoying it.
The OM and I were married back in Aug. of 1970, so I guess he must be doing something right for me to keep him around, all though I don't know what,he,he. We have three boys and a girl, all are married and have children which makes us 9 total grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
I enjoy reading, LOUIS L'AMOUR is my favorite author. I have a good collection of his books. I also enjoy camping, fishing and site seeing.
I use to ride with Steve on OUR motorcycles but my arthritis just got so bad that it was really hard to swing the leg over to get on the bike. And when I did manage to get on I could not ride far because my hips would start aching. And because I couldn't ride with him he just up and sold the Shadow. He said if I could not ride he wouldn't. But over the years since he sold the bike I knew he missed it, as I do. I bought him a bike he saw on the net located in Portland, OR. He hasn't stopped grinning since, the big oaf.. I never rode a motorcycle until I met Steve, and we have had many miles of enjoyment on them.
I am not active in Ham Radio other than talking with the OM for short instructions via 2 meters, gotta keep him in line when he is out of sight if you know what I mean. I am a Tech+, but have never used the HF radios. I lost interest in the hobby at about the same time as the OM in 1999.
When we both got layed off at the Hermiston Simplot Plant do to Closier, he started getting bored and started dusting off radios and buying more radios off Ebay.... Well I slowed that down after a couple showed up broke... He got all excited when he found out he didn't have to pass any more code test to become a General, and he soon upgraded. I just cannot stir up the interest in it, at least not for now anyway.
Well not much more to say, just wanted to let you know there is someone behind the OM keepin him on track and that someone is ME, he, he..
